Husqvarna 338XPT Crankshaft Bearings
« Reply #1 on: June 11, 2016, 11:01:42 am »

Anytime I rebuild a two stroke, I lubricate all internal bearings.
How do you pre-lube these bearings and how do they get lubricant? The rectangular holes, on crank side, do not go through.

I posted this on the other forum with zero response.
I have tried many times, following instructions, to post pictures on this site.
I gave up trying to post photos.

Cut4fun . --Do you have any idea how these bearings are lubricated? I have worked on two stroke engines for many years and have never seen anything like this. These seals are sold separately and they slide on bearing. It appears that the bearing may be sealed with lubricant, which does not make sense.
This saw had a broken piston skirt and was knocking. No indication of bad bearings, so I plan to reuse.

I'll have to check to make sure. But I think if you  embed the pics with software here it dosent preview pics in post.

Previews (guessing right now) only shows pics using outside host like photobucket etc. Plus the words typed to use spell check.

Never dealt with those bearings sorry.  Never had to do a 338  crank bearing yet.

Other sealed bearing types come lubed inside.
