Crap his dad wants me to go ahead and fix it. More stuff it needed New ring, base gasket, purge bulb, fuel lines.  Going to use a new 346 muffler brace to try and help hold muffler.
Already did the intake partition and metal clamp.

Only thing that worries me is that wollard cylinder bolt hole.

So get those deer done and onto this guys JB 350.   ::)

Just wow the JB350   :P  Wish I could have seen how bad it really was under there to be using that much JB by past owner.  :-X

I used the foil that Stihl uses under there mufflers on mine. Has held up well. And it acts as a shield if the muffler bolts where to come loose, with out me catching it.

This one has the lower metal oem heat shield. But if it comes loose muffler bolts its worthless.

Thinking of trying to use the foil heat tape stuff on there too.

Grrrr I was sending out addresses and forgot I was on this name.  :-[ :P

I modified a 346 muffler bracket and drilled and tapped muffler bolts to 6mm. I also read to tighten the bolts when they're hot and they'll stay tight. 5 tanks through it and so far so good. That foil tape looks like a good thing too.

I was wondering if a bigger bolt  could be used and  still get through muffler. Thanks for info.

Deer done except for packaging. So worked on saw and back together.

Checked carb setting from when it came in. Holy jeez 7 turns  :o out on L side.  I hope that is because they were trying to get it to start and run when it died on them.  ::)

I had to run a drill bit down through the muffler and heat shield to allow the 6mm bolts.  Don't recall what size it took to clear.

Thanks for info @Fishnuts2

Also last night I had purged the carb to flow my mix through it and left it. Today 6:45pm I did same thing then pulled over with choke. Popped 1st pull, pushed in choke to fast idle and started up 2nd pull.  :o

Popped on 1st pull again. Test cuts and perfect running IMO.

12ish about the max rpm on these wot?  I cant remember.  Tuned by ear then quick check before hitting wood.
