Is the breather open?

I thought about that. But it leaks even when the cap is off. So I didnt go any further checking the vent.

Owner had a big oak to go cut on and limb out. So I had put the 353 back together using the used part trying to see if I could get it to stop.

Thinking now maybe it might be getting by where it goes into the tank too. Will have to watch closer to see if it is coming from there and oiler hole or what.

Owner just said order new part anyways. Done.

Also owner wanted one of those puffed XP decals put on it like the NE346 etc had. Looks good.  353XP now.

Owner said today the 353 with the 33LG chain was laser through the limbing cuts on that oak.

Jim remember the 353 with the bad scored piston I rebuilt with bad p cleaned up as best as possible to show folks they dont have to be perfect. This is that 353.  Just new rings etc back then and been 2 years on that piston now.

Cylinder pic before clean up 2013. Piston was being cleaned up at the time.

Owner just text and said after using all day yesterday and setting over night didnt leak.  Must have gotten something right while cleaning everything in there. Funny how it leaked right after I did ti and test run and set.

Oh well got a new part already paid for in route on my dime.

If you fix it for him again might have to unfix the oil leak to get the new one paid for.  :D :D

Kevin if you don't end up using that replacement hose assembly on his saw I'll buy it from you.  Will be rebuilding a 346XP soon....

My Jonsered 2152 has leaked oil since it was new. (The dealer at the time just said "they all do that".) If there was an update to the 353, did it apply to the 2152 as well? I'd love to get this fixed. It's a bummer to end up with oil everywhere it sits - besides, I often have to use the canola oil-based bar oil, and that stuff is not cheap.

Just wondering what line or lines and bar mount area looks like on your saw. You been under there?

Aaron I want to wait and see if his 353 is really stopped leaking. He could of run it out of bar oil for all I know. He likes to drink and cut.   Might have put it up dry.  :P ;D
