Good thing I had a new Caber 45mm ring handy.  Because I wanted to see what their afm rings were for 353 for $3.31 compared to $12plus for oem. Got 2 rings and thought cool. Then noticed 47mm not cool.

What saws are 47mm bore and 1.5mm ring?  So far I found 359 uses 47mm rings

Just to show the average firewood cutter dont need a perfect looking piston and can redneck repair it and keep going.

Test cuts made. Reused the scored piston and cylinder. Cylinder cleaned up nice, piston had some inward grooves still but I have seen alot worse reused.

I'll update psi after some time on the new caber ring.

The 353 is a very good 50cc saw, it just isn't a 346xp, even though it mostly is just that.... ;D

Even though this one has been  wounded. I'm going to test it with stock a 50cc 346xp before doing a muffler mod on the outside. That way still stock for stock with no muffler mods.
Set it up for 3/8 already.

Had black coil in it too.

Back when I was logging for a living and running a saw shop out of my house I had a customer come in with a 346 that needed a topend. He was in a hurry so I pulled the one off of my 346 that I was using in a pulp cutover and gave him a good deal on it.

I had a 353 that was given to me with a broken case. I put the 353 topend on my 346. The amount of wood per day, week and month that I cut never changed. No lose of money there. The 353 ran longer per tank. That was a plus. Never did put a 346 topend back on. I have no trouble recommending a 353 to anyone.

Messing with the  353 (before primer bulbs) yesterday for someone to test out soon. Noticed it had a black coil in it.  I was figuring the 353 would have came with blue limited coils.

At least the early ones came with a black coil.

2007 husky 353 just dropped off. Says leaks the bar oil out in puddles.   No matter how many times he sets saw around garage it puddles everywhere.

Wasnt there a oiler line update to these?
