2007 husky 353 just dropped off. Says leaks the bar oil out in puddles.   No matter how many times he sets saw around garage it puddles everywhere.

Wasnt there a oiler line update to these?

My Jonsered 2152 has leaked oil since it was new. (The dealer at the time just said "they all do that".) If there was an update to the 353, did it apply to the 2152 as well? I'd love to get this fixed. It's a bummer to end up with oil everywhere it sits - besides, I often have to use the canola oil-based bar oil, and that stuff is not cheap.

In 2012 I found where I posted this. But cant any info on it or starting what years. The 346's  was updated oiler lines later in run.

Hopefully I didnt just imagine that. Maybe someone knows. I would say if we bought new lines they will be updated.  Wonder if 1 piece over older 2 piece design.

This guy has some good info. I am going to try threebond 1194 instead of grease though.

Down to where we can start seeing the origin of the leak. Green arrow points to where it seems to be oozing. The area where the yellow arrow points to is completely dry, so oil is not leaking down from where the oil tube meets the bar.

Pulled the tube that runs from the oil pump up to the bar. The Green arrow points to a nipple on the pump that the oil tube seats to. This is a possible leak source.

Removed the oil pump. Here the green arrow points to a rubber saddle that the oil pump seats into with the same type of nipple on the outer side. Same possible leak source. The rubber saddle itself seats into the oil tank which could be another possible leak source.

put grease on both sides of the oil pump nipples.

What provides tension on that nipple normally? Bar plate?   Funky design....

The oil pickup line seals against the backside of the oil pump.  Pressure there comes from the oil pump mounting screws.  The discharge line is held against the pump by the inner bar plate/oil pump cover tin.

Aaron Thanks.  Pressing the outlet rubber on an irregular (rounded) surface would tend to open up the rubber tube IMO.  Looks like a good fix above. Wonder if cynoacrylate type glues would bond the rubber to the aluminum if the metal was scuffed up?

Sure looks updated to me.   Appears 1 piece design and the bar mount oiler channel area seems different.  The rubber part going up is short and then just metal channel.    ???

Was still leaking right from that same area though shown in thise pics above.

Looks like it was the part that was used on the husqvarna 350 IPL http://www.husqvarna.com/ddoc/husi/husi1999_aaaa/husi1999_aaaa_i9900054_.pdf
