The difference is the transfer covers on the 365 X-Torq?

They have a different part number from the ones on the 372XT but are not available separately.

It is said that you can see the difference through the spark plug holes.

You must have read the same thing I just read below.

Both the 365 and 372 have the same cylinder. They both have the same Husky part# stamped onto the cylinder on the flywheel side 5219301. The difference is the port covers on the side. There is a baffle in the 365 cover where as the 372 port is totally open. I haven't taken one of the 365 port covers off but you can see it through the plug hole and the casting # for the port covers are different. Hope this eliminates some confusion.

True or not? Somebody got a 365xt 372xt to check?

I compared both IPL's and the only different top end part number is the piston/Cylinder assembly.

And within that assembly, the pistons do have the same part number.

Then I read elsewhere what you posted

The Torx screws that retain the transfer covers have the bumps in their center to keep you from removing the screws.

yes man bought it to clean yard after the huricane in september and said it was tomuch work so sold saw and a bunch of other tools he bought to clean up. I see what I need to remove now to get to the restricter plates. Am told I must remove the cylinder to acess the side plat screws. Not sure if I want to try this as Ihave never pulled a saw apart any special tools needed to reassemble

You will need the special Torx wrench that you can get from McMaster-Carr to actually get the transfer plates off the cylinder.

You can remove the muffler and the spark plug and peak inside the cylinder with the piston at bottom dead center from one direction with a light in the other hole to have a look-see?

It might not prove a whole lot until we have a corresponding inspection of a 372XT?
