The new 372XP X-Torq is definately stratofied.  However, they built the saw off the same crankcase as the 372 we have always had.  It does use a single venturi to feed both the clean air and the fuel charged air.  The carb has a divider in it so that only one half of it takes on fuel.  This divider continues through the intake duct and into the cylinder.  I have not modified a 575, so can't really tell you how it compares.  Hope that helps a little.
