What bar is on the chainsaw now?

If no bar what is the chain pitch of the sprocket?  - Take a chain and fit it around the sprocket and see if all the drivers on the chain will mesh with the teeth of the sprocket or rim, you have the pitch chain.

Th wrong chain will obviously not fit the sprocket.

To know what pitch your chain is, measure the distance across three chain rivets and divide by two.

Chain sprockets are not sensitive to chain gage, i.e. .050", .058", or .063". but chainsaw bar are?

In this area you can not give away .058 gage chain or bars but in the North Eastern states, every one uses .058" gage.

16in is on it now.
