You need to count your drivers on the chain. It is going to be somewhere between 62 and 67 drivers?

I'm totally confused on what chain and bar this has now or what its supposed to have. I found the sticker on the air/cylinder cover. It says recommended bar 20" and 33SL/LG chain by oregon.

But you said that your chainsaw has a 16" Long  X .325" pitch X .058 Gage bar and chain? Now we need to determine how many driver links are on the chain?

A 40cc chainsaw is more than likely to run better with a 16" bar than a 20" bar?

To determine what length bar you have, you need to measure from the front of the chainsaw to the tip of the bar?

I took the bar and chain off. I found odd number of drag links which came out at 67. These drag links got alot scratches on them like a 50 chain was used in 58 gauge bar. I got 7 spur sprocket. I measured 16in on the bar.

Around here in Ohio people use .050 chains on .058 bars all the time. You cannot buy .058" chain around here unless you order it.

So you have a 16" long X .325" pitch X .058" gage X 67 DL bar and chain.

A seven tooth spur sprocket is very common.

Ok thanks. I gotta replace bar anyways. So do I get 50 or 58 gauge?

In this area (Ohio) there would be no doubt about it it I would get a .050" gage bar.

I don't know how it is there where you live? But I would have to assume that .050" would be more popular?

Is there a way to cross reference husky part numbers to poulan part numbers?

It has been done by other members on here.

You need the illustrated parts list of the Poulan and the likely Husqvarna saws and compare pictures and part numbers.

The equivalent Poulan parts are typically cheaper than the Husky parts
