I've bought from Chainsawr several times and the parts were always as advertised..

I ran across this post on another forum;

Anywho, these 42 specials scream when ya port em. Turns out the transfers were open, so I couldn't mess with them much without an angled power tool. So I just opened it up as you normally would, port-matched the exhaust, gave it a tad more intake timing, raised the exhaust back to stock after dropping the gasket for a squish of around .020. According to the part number in europe for the Galordoni cylinder, it was for a 242 special. The piston is a flat top VS the standard 42's dished piston. Compression is way up there for a lil saw. It was good to start. I'll have a vid of it with the tune I received it in(anemic at best). Me tuning it, and then after it was ported. This little thing reminds me of all those wild thing videos I've seen now. It cost £50, so not much loss if she explodes, really. But hopefully she'll keep it together. Since the spec on the 42 is 14.5k RPM, the 42 special at 15K, and the 242xp at 15.5K, how much should a ported 42 special turn? She has a ton of torque in wood for her size, but she is screaming on the top end out of the wood so much It scares me. If I richen her up much more, she starts acting liek well..like she's running too rich.

Interesting! ;)

Came cross a new issue on this saw. Would worn spur sprocket effect the saw idling shortly after releasing the trigger? I ran this saw and after releasing the trigger the saw got all bouncy like its out of time then corrected itself. I know it needs a new sprocket and maybe bar too. Just wondering if its all related to the chain sprocket or is there something going on that needs to be looked into.

Im lost on this saw now. Im trying to replace the spur sprocket which is .325 7 tooth. The parts diagram on parts tree and jacks small engine is different that setup. I have to remove the clutch to replace the sprocket. I got this part number 503444901 from a 42 model but it that a rim sprocket or spur sprocket?
