Haven't had one down yet.  I did verify the caps to be different but have not verified that the cylinders are the same.  Casting numbers are identical but Spike stated that husky says the combustion chamber is altered.  I doubt anyone you would get to speak with at tech would even know.

Is one on the shelf, if I get time, will play with it.

As I have stated earlier, it proves nothing that the casting numbers are identical. Actually I suspect those only relate to the outside of the initial cast - even cylinders with different bore diametres sometimes have the same casting number.....

Anyone tested one yet?  I want to try and find one to compare to my stock 550 now.

Hopefully I will be getting a new 545 here pretty soon to break in and test with.  I just want to see how the 545 stacks up to the 550 and NE 346 50cc saws.  All stock.

545 differences we know for sure compared to 550.

1. transfer covers different, smaller looking (shallow) in pics.

2. no bells on the crankshaft (550 full circle sort of).

3. No rev boost in coil or software.

Anything else we know for sure?

We heard maybe port timing different and combustion chamber size might be different.   ???  I am betting same cylinder shared with both saws with just different transfer covers like the 555 562.

Put a 18" semi chisel  325 carlton on for now, so I could start and make some cuts with.

Will be changing over to 3/8 soon to test with 550xp and 346xp.

All I can say

Exactly what I believe, until proven wrong...

...and I don't think that will happen.

545 transfer covers have 1 different number at very end separated from rest. Look just like the 550 transfer cover from the outside thickness and all.  8)

It may not show it on paper specs. But I am betting the 545 on 1st tank will cut with or out cut a stock 50cc 346xp.  ;)
