Been reading about some new saws in Italy for awhile now that is coming out in late 2012 to 2013. Here who knows.

Best translation I can do.

Seems imminent arrival of new models in Italy, also 540da drinking.

Among the new arrival in late 2012, which will replace the 346xp = 550xp and 545 which will replace the 353.

But the most interesting news is the new to replace the missing 242xp with 543xp

The 543 and 241 are the two saws that I am waiting for. The 242/246 is my favorite saw.

The user manual for the 550xp and 545 is on the website already here, so my guess is early 2012 rather than late. No real surprices in the specs, and they look like a "crimped" 560xp, as expected.

I am also waiting to see what the 543xp really is about.....

So, are you going to buy a new 550 too ST? Do you know any specs on them. Weight, HP? Some saw's like the 346xp are just to hard to replace.

Chainsawrepair, here is the 550xp IPL, but the 543xp one isn't out yet, as far as I know.

Regarding the other saws, anyone can look on the US Husky site, if they are availiable - most IPLs since 1972 can be be found there, which is a great service!

According to the Scandinavian user manual, the 550xp is 2.8 kW/3.8 hp and 4.9 kg (10.8 lbs). The 545 is 2.6 kW (3.5 hp) - same cc and weight, as with the 555 vs. 560xp.

The saw looks like a "crimped" 560xp - and I am wondering when there will be an "enlarged" one - logically that should happen, but who knows when?

No TORX, I am not going to buy the 550xp right away - the 346xp obviously is much more difficult to improve much upon than the 357xp was. My 560xpg feels like a real improvement though, and I already have one of those - just not able to use it right now.

I have seen the 543 and 550 pics by now - the pic of the 550 is as expected, but the 543 pic puzzels me regarding the origin of the design, and makes me sceptical....

As far as I know it is not an official Husky picture, so we don't even know if it is the final product, or if it is a prototype or pre-production saw. Then there is the possibility that it is a Zenoah design, of course.....

I don't like the looks of the 543. Looks like a cheap Poulan to me. Guess a 241 is in my future.

Not a Poulan at all. I do see a little Red Max in there though. Equally discourageing in my book. We'll have to wait and see.

Art I seen this video and thought it fit you to a T. 550xp Wonder if it will be as nimble as the OE 346 feels. The NE just feels different and I have no clue why. I even had them both side to side and cant figure out why. Anyone know why the NE feels and handles different then the OE 346?

The little 543XP would be a nice little saw to back up the 338XPT .

I can see in my lineup, 338XPT, 543XP, 560/562XP, 272XP,372XP, 576XP-AT, 395XP.

Did I forget the T540XP ?

Same max power rating as the MS241 and the PS421 (higher than the PS420), but a bit short of the ol' 242xp. A little less weight though, specially compared to the 421 - and of course an outboard clutch, that is the only sensible on a saw that size.

I am not really interested in saws this size though, as the weight is too close to some 50cc saws imo.

Thats the great thing about saws. They build something for everyone. As great as the 555/560/562s are I have no desire for one of them. A 543 however gets my attention bigtime.
