Husqvarna 555 Autotune won't start

I have a 555 Autotune, 20" bar, that won't start. I've had it 2 years, fairly low hours as I only use it for my own firewood for home. Every once in a while it would be hard to start- 15-25 pulls- when warm, but it eventually got running; I would throttle it up till it ran smooth again and then go back to work. This spring it did it again on a hot day, started and I used it for 10 mins or so and shut it off.
Next day- Nada. One half hearted pop and then nothing. Fresh high test gas, clean filters etc.. Pulled my arm out trying and gave up.
Has anyone here had similar problems with starting?
And here's the other problem- as I'm freaking busy, I took it to the shop where purchased. But they've had it 18 days so far and say the'll get to it when I call. I understand, they're swamped, everybody is right now. But due to windfalls I have three large trees down here and at a clients and they are causing some problems.
I may have to take the saw back to get it fixed and there is no one in the area that isn't swamped, so that leaves me.

Yes, Connecticut.
Called the dealer Saturday, looks like another week. I need to get the saw running. I'm not a full time guy so I don't have a back up saw that size.
Was going to look at a 257 ,supposed to be "low hours and light use" but it was a 1998 model for $250, so I backed off on a saw I almost certainly can't get parts for.

Two things...like a lot of those its easy to over choke them. After that first pop did you push the choke off? Second, its worth taking to a dealer who understands CST to take a quick look at what that saw THINKS is going on. Things to check on would be carb settings and carb temps. Spike60's dealership is just west of the Hudson probably due west of you. I have to believe there are decent dealers close by. And just for curiosity do you know the year of manufacture?

I would certainly get a look at it through CST before tearing it apart and getting "online" fixes. CST will cut to the chase with data that will help define if its mechanical or something else. And like any mechanical device, things to fail. Still needs compression, fuel, air, and spark. I have seen one 562 with a bad carb. over the last couple of years.


Ill drop a link in to a video I did a while ago on how to get those things running. Not trying to insult you intel. This is for others who might pass though here...I watched the guys at Cortland County Highway, where I worked for 15 years. ALL experts. Ask them. NONE figured out how to start the 550's easy as they all would keep pulling after the "pop" with the choke on....even after they were educated. Actually one foreman ( Ben. ) figured them out over time. But anyway:

The shop called me 7:30 last night to tell me they fixed the saw; it needed a firmware update. Sigh. 23 days for an update.......I'll pick it up this am. I may still look for a backup that has a simpler ignition & carb.

Anyway, thanks for posting the starting video. In answer, I learned early on to not use the choke after any kind of start, but I was hitting the trigger to get it off choke- and subsequently off high idle. But the last time with the 555, the pop was barely there and I didn't use the choke again until a lot of pulls, probably 20.  Then I let it sit, choke open for 20 mins, tried again, same no pop no start.But after watching your video, I'll pay more attention to the start sequence.
Is there anything different during the heat of summer?
Now to spend Memorial Day weekend cutting up 4 downed 26-36" ash and a 2' oak.
Oh boy.
