Husqvarna 562 mufflers
« on: August 05, 2014, 09:14:09 am »
Anybody know of an AM source for 562XP mufflers? I want to replace the stock muffler on my 562 but not into OEM price for muffler mod experimentation.

One should be able to add a second outlet for little money?

Tim, I believe it's the same as the 555 muffler.  Pn581914801 those are in the $30 range.   Be worth a little more research...

Cool, thanks Adam! What does your buddy do to modify them? Also what does he get for one without the exchange?

I just bought a new oem 562xp muffler from spike60 for $34. No am muffs out yet and there would be no savings anyway.

One should be able to add a second outlet for little money?  Just attach it with two sheet metal screws

He cuts them in half, guts them completely, TIGs them back together, I think he adds a second outlet on some but gutting and keeping the factory outlet helps a lot too, then paints them. I'll ask him without the exchange, he's a Husky/Stihl dealer so it'll probably be OEM price.

The second outlet by itself helps a little but it's all the restriction inside that hurts the most.

Grind off the very edge of the seam and split the muffler - Gut it - add your second outlet and weld back together. You can braze it or sting it with the stinger.

Brass won't stick to that shiny coating.
