Husqvarna 562XP .325 b/c conversion videos
« on: November 16, 2015, 09:26:28 pm »
Well I made my very first YouTube videos and would like to share them with you all.
My 12 year daughter taught me how to make these videos so we had a great father - daughter time getting this done.

I got my 2012 562 with 18" Cannon Super Mini bar converted over to .325 .This is my main go to tree service saw and it has approximately 1500 hours on it now, never had the cylinder off and have only done a mild muffler mod to it.
I'm running a Stihl 23RSC chain on it with a 7 pin .325 rim. Where these videos come in is where I'm doing a test with 7, 8, and 9 pin rims. These videos have tested both the 7 and 8 pin .325 rim with brand new 23RSC with a light touch up with a 3/16" file in 8"x8"wood.
In days to come I'll run the 9 pin and then the 7 pin with a 28" b/c. In 14"x10" wood.
I'll finish off with 3/8" and 3/8"Picco.

So here we go 1st video with a 7 pin .325 .Pretty roughly done as this is my first time , got my saws year mixed up and called the chain a 33RS :D
I forgot to swap the dogs over for the smooth bumper pad which gave me a hard time settling into the first cut and the up cut as the dogs were snagging the wood. Did all 3 videos with the dogs on the saw.
First time I did a cold start in over 10 years, and haven't made competitive cuts like these in 15.
I'm pushing 60 and not as quick as I used to be, but with a little practice I can be competitive again. ;D
 1st video 10.49 seconds 2nd video 11.04 seconds 3rd video 9.91 seconds

In .325 that (RSC) is my favorite chain. You are saying all the right and typical things  +1

Keep up with the good posts

Thanks guys. I appreciate your thumbs up,
These YouTube video things are pretty neat but then at the same time could be a little scary if a guy got carried away with them Haha. I'll definitely keep more coming and keep this thread going.

Yeah that little 23RS chain is a real nice chain, hate to say but Oregon has nothing to compare it to.
It really rips even on a worn out 562 .
It doesn't have the filing life of a 33RS or 72LGX but there comes a time when a fellow can be a bit more careful around the dirt and rocks and appreciate the smoothness and speed of the .325
Just like we did back in the day with the 3/8 76LG.

Wow that was interesting !  I've never been to a chainsaw competition, maybe a stupid question but what are those dogs you mentioned ?

That was no chainsaw competition, I was just playing in my back yard with my 12 year old daughter. :D
The dogs are the spikes bolted to the front crankcase of the saw to grab onto the log for pivoting the bar /chain in the cut for leverage when bucking or felling a tree.

Many years ago my dad had a saw with no dogs, it actually worked fine but when I bought my first saw dogs was something I wanted.
