435e oil leak
« on: March 09, 2022, 05:28:15 pm »
Have oil leaking at front of saw, directly out of tank via a hole that the presume is a vent hole. Leak first occured while the saw was being stored without a guide bar in place. Photo shows a thin nail that I put into hole to illustrate the picture. I can see the nail when I peer in the empty oil tank. Have I lost a valve part that should be filling this hole?

I dont see a pic.  They have to be pretty small to post here. I pay for stroage out of my pocket. Got to be 389kb or smaller or use a outside source to host.

Never had a 435 440 in with this problem. If could see a pic might tell where it is you are having this issue.

See the duckbill valve pto side front.  Guessing your missing the #7 and #8 that hold 7 in.

Looks like a chain slapped it or break.  I cleaned and degreases a plastic case like that. The work you some Steelstick into a cone shape. Put skinny end into hole and small into it flatten out. Let set for 6-10 hours then coat with some Sealall.
Never came back.

But get it clean first wont stick to oils.  Dump tank out and clean it good.

Poked a hole right thru the front of the case.   Never seen that before.
