husqvarna rancher 455 engine rebuild
« on: November 03, 2016, 08:07:10 pm »
I got given a husqvarna rancher 455 that had regular gas put in it and burned it up.  I tore the saw apart and was wondering if there is anything to watch out for when rebuilding these saws.  Where is a good place to get parts for these saws seen many kits on ebay and amazon but am a little weary of these.  How much play should there be in the connecting rod where it hooks to the crank?

There should not be any up down play on the connecting rod but you will notice some side to side play.   I have a couple of those saws one I tore all the way down and took a bunch of pictures of.

No break in.   Just run like you would any other saw.   Just make sure you have it tuned correctly so that it does not get hot and mess up the piston and cylinder.
