This video is rather lengthly because there are several saws but if you have the patience, Spike (Bob) eventually gets out the 543 and makes a few cuts. It is a rather impressive saw and you can compare it with the others though they are bigger saws. They talk about our kind of stuff.

Yeah, I didn't see any 543 in that video.  I'd be interested to see some more footage of it, particularly doing real-world things and not just making timed cuts on a log that is sized out of proportion to the true purpose of the saw.  I'm this close [ ] to buying one to play with, though I am still holding out hope that there will be an -xpg model in due course.

That must have been the wrong video.

Try this one . . . 1st mention is 4:53 then Bob is starting to cut a tree down around 9:40

Being  a Zenoah engine, I'm not surprised that takes a while to break in. My use of Zenoah engines has been several rc planes and a Craftsman/GZ400. They are slow at first but after break in, there's a period of time where they start easier, run smoother and stronger as time goes by and then, of course, it levels out. I remember when I got into the rc hobby 25 years ago, an old timer told me, " they just get better with age", referring to his Zenoah G38. That little Craftsman has been used and abused and after 8 years. I didn't realize it was a Redmax until I'd wore it out so it was the fence line saw, etc, that got misused from time to time. Now it's compression is dropping and is going to need a rebuild.

I sure hope someone can do a 543XP vs. GZ4500 test. At 280 shipped that  GZ is a good buy.
