Leaking 44
« on: February 11, 2013, 11:15:29 pm »
I have a 44 that leaks bar oil.  I removed the clutch but I can't seem to figure out how to get the next part off.  I have looked at the diagram, but still need help.  Thanks Jason ???  ???

I believe the drive gear is pressed onto the crank. Husky makes a special tool that threads onto the worm gear to save the gear from puller damage.  Might be cheaper to use a standard puller and buy a new drive gear though.....

Hope I attached three pics .  Last pic shows the clutch and drive gear off, the plate with the three bolts wiggles, but the center "washer??" "spacer??" seems to be holding it on.  I'm not sure how to procede.  Again the lubracating system seems to be leaking and I thought I would clean it up to see if I could get it to stop.  Any help would be great,  thanks again

Pull the three screws and you should be able to wiggle the pump off. Might be a little tight as it meshes with the spur gear on the crank

Some chainsaws just insist in leaving their "Mark"
We should share what we know... someone may learn...
