Leaking fuel - 55
« on: September 13, 2014, 10:57:37 am »
Picked up my 55 this morning to go buck a few logs.
Filled it up with mix, put the cap back on and saw a puddle of fuel mix on the ground.
Picked up the saw and the leaking stopped.
Only leaking when lying on the clutch side.
Took a quick look at the carb and fuel lines, not leaking from there.
Any ideas?

Thanks,
Chuck

It's the tank vent

When I look at the tank vent, I do not see the little white plug.
How do you remove the vent, does it just pull out or does it unscrew/twist out?

Got it, thanks.
Just pushes out from the inside of the tank.

A small magnet might pop the whole thing out to clean it and put new discs in.

Not sure about the magnet, IME the vent body is plastic and so is the little white puck.
