New 562XP
« on: March 11, 2014, 08:48:07 pm »
Finally had time to get the 562 I got from Spike60 out of the box today! Very nice saw by the looks of it. however I cannot get used to the silver/gray side clutch cover, would rather have orange! So, had a look at the IPLs and found that the 560 and 562 have what appears to be the same cover but two different PNs. Does anyone know if the 560 cover is orange and will fit the 562?

The 560 is small husky mount

The 560 have a "silver" cover, but the 555 has an orange one - and if the 556 ever hits the market, it will have the large bar mount and an orange clutch cover.

I don't really know if the 555 clutch cover matches up with the large bar mount of the 562 - but suspect there are issues with it....

Thanks Nikko, I suspect you are right on the 555 and 562 covers, they actually have two different part numbers.

The triple nickel is a small mount just like the 560. The 562XP is large mount husky.

Doing a little grinding on mine.  Can't wait to actually run it.  Piston was lightly scored when I got it.  Cyl. will clean easliy (1 carbon track)as will piston.

Wilson, good to hear from you! How is your wife doing? Mine is new, bought it to figure out how the AT saws work.

I see that the 556 IPL is gone from the Husky web-site....

I wonder if that is bad news or good? According to an old post from SawTroll the IPLs usually lag behind the market release of the saw! So perhaps the saw could have been canceled or has been changed significantly since original design requiring the IPL to be revised?

Just wondering ;D

I am too, but that model didn't really make sense in the first place, a large mount version of the 555 would just weight more, for no real gain (except an Orange clutch cover for 562xp owners).
