Just take a picture of the crankcase sitting upright from overhead.

does your crankcase look like the attached?

Finally found a tape with mm. The piston is 54 mm.

Does your crankcase look like the picture above? If it does and the piston is 54mm my guess is that the saw is a 288.

Yup, the crankcase looks identical to the one in the pic.
