Might have gotten it fixed. I bent the oil cover plate slighly so the edge is flat all around against a pane of glass & reassembled the saw. it has been sitting clutch side down on a sheet of paper towel for a couple of hours now and no apparent leak.

Maybe I got it back together right, no parts left over!!!  :D
