Video OE 346 - 365 SP
« on: April 18, 2013, 06:40:34 pm »
Just showing someone a comparison.   OE 346 46cc good woods ported saw to a 365 special 65cc  stock in small 8x8 wood I think would come out to around a 9" round.  I only run the OE 346 a very fat 13.8K even though this one can take you to the moon if you liked it too.  ;)
Using same 3/8 out of the box sharp RSC with 7T rim on both.

Showing how I think the woods ported OE is a great limbing saw IMO.

Popup, oem base gasket. Cant remember on PSI. 357 199 carb.

Built by Dan Henry dozerdan and I am guessing 2005-06 time frame.  Not much time on it and xpG.
I did update the intake clamp etc out of fear of the older plastic ones.

I had 2 of these one with 346 carb and one with 357 199 carb. 357 carb was good for about another 10%

No doubt about it!

A good running 346OE makes a REAL nice saw!
I've got one that runs pretty good, but MY WORD it's loud.

Just like Mike I have had several NE and OE. I like the plastics better on OE and no primer bulb. The plastics on the NE's seem cheesy brittle compared to the OE plastics. JMO

NE are better for bucking with the little extra torque.

But if I am thinking right,  at the last GTG only 2 NE 50cc out cut this 46cc in 3 cuts timed  ( 1 Andyshine built for Mike and 1 Dan Henry built and sent to me).
I also had had a bad run with the 46cc pulling it out of the r's all 3 cuts with a to aggressive chain I never ran before. Not that it would have mattered. No way it would have kept up with those 2 50cc anyways.

Glad to see the little 346 OE is still OK.
The 346 NE that I sent you is my personal fire wood saw with bone stock factory carb with the primer bulb still working. My son wont use that 346 for cutting firewood, he says its to darn slow. He was fine with it until I built the Partner 5000.

Why no chain brake handle on the 346 in the video?

It's back on there now.

Back when COLD start racing sometimes you could grab the brake handle instead of top handle or hit brake handle and engage the freaking brake in the cut. Been there done that and what it pizzer it is in the cut.

I was in TN and make a great run with that PP375 with K cylinder on it you ported and hit the brake on up cut. So I pulled all them freaking handles.
