+1 on that, even the metal ones like on the 346XP seem to suffer excessive wear in a short operational span. Also,  I have noticed that the types that use both rubber supply and output lines seem to suffer leakage due to what I think may be heat. They loose elasticity and won't seal properly around the input and output sides of the pump.
