That should be just the dentents for oiler adjustment. Looks like it just come unscrewed to far.  Like when you back out you feel 3 notches so to speak.

I dont know if you can get it started and tightened down without removing the motor or not. See the area for a socket or wrench, just guessing. Never had to go deep in a 338 yet.  I'd sure try just doing it with a screwdriver first though.

Manual says just screw in tighten down.

Yes I felt the notch's......not so sure if I can just get away w/screwdriver only tho.
