Leaking Husqvarna gas caps

I don't know if it's cold weather or what it is, but I've had several leaking Husvarna gas caps here lately.  Just a very slight weeping type of thing, but it's annoying.  I bought a supply of replacement o-rings.  Sometimes replacing the o-ring works, sometimes not.   One saw I tried a new o-ring, it didn't work.  So I put a new cap on and that did work.  Try as I might I can't see a thing wrong with the old cap. 

Has anyone run into this?  Is there a slightly bigger o-ring maybe?

They have a newer design cap with a molded seal ring around them instead of the o-ring like on the old ones.

Also HVA have a flippy cap that works very well! $6 each.

522-6200-01 Newest style flippy cap,
537-2152-02 Upgraded w/improved seal
501-8196-02 Old style O-ring bad to leak/seep.  Bought a bunch of these a while back on a deal NOS.  Had the same problem replaced O-rings/caps3 ot of 5 might seal when you install would start leaking within weeks.  Replace with 537 cap no mo problems.

A decent Husky dealer will have the newer (537) caps in blister packs over in the corner of the sales floor.

Thank you very much for the info.  The one cap I did replace was the 537 style and it has worked very well.

The new style cap works much better than the old style with O ring.
