Did the late model cylinders have removable transfer cover covers? If so would any one happen to have a picture of them.

AFAIK the Husqvarna 353 does have removable covers.

IDK much about Johnny reds and what their number systems mean specifically.

The answer is no - but the 353/2152 always had removable transfer covers.

Watch out for aftermarket or other unoriginal top ends on used saws.

Thanks that was what I was looking for. I think the 2252 and 2253 have removable covers and maybe like the 365/372 xt saws with there transfer covers. But maybe wrong. Someone correct me if I,am wrong.

FWIW The 45mm bore Husqvarna 353 and the later 45mm bore 350 both had the same cylinder with the removable transfer cover. But the plastic case 350 had a low compression dished piston.

I'm not so sure how these two Husqvarna saws match up with the Jonsered line up?

This cylinder can be opened up around the bottom of the transfers and with the covers removed and some Emery cloth strips, the transfers can be easily spruced up with common hand tools. With the flat top piston and the ports opened up, they run pretty good. This was a 45mm Husqvarna 350

Somewhat related - adapting a used OE 346XP cylinder to a Husqvarna 350. The title says 350 but it was a 44mm early style open port one . . .

They do, but the differense between 2252 and 2253 covers can't be removed, as with the 372/365xt covers.
