Special tools-Husky
« on: October 17, 2014, 03:22:02 pm »
Where can I find info for ordering a repair manual and special tools for Husky saws. I just posted the other day about an oiling issue with a Husky 350. I believe the problem is solved(thanks to this forum) and I'm trying to put the clutch back on so it will be tight. Instead of trying my own method(and probably break something) I figured I'd ask and get the proper info on getting the clutch on tight. I'm guessing there is a special technique and proper tools. Thanks again in advance.

Just hand tighten it, and running the saw (without abrupt stops initially) will do the rest. There is a reason for the reverse threading.  ;)

Saw troll,
Thats what I thought. However, I tried that and as soon as I started to increase the throttle the clutch and sprocket started to spin off. I'm thinking maybe just let it idle for awhile??? I also ran it without the bar and chain. Not sure if that makes a difference. Appreciate the input.

put the bar/chain on it and pop the chain brake. you need something there to 'force' the clutch tight.
when I grow up, i wanna be an adult.

The chainsaw needs to be all together complete with clutch bell, cover, bar, and chain!!!

Or

You will be dodging the clutch as it goes dancing around like a stray bullet.

and spending the next hour crawling around on hands and knees in the parking lot looking for the spring when the clutch comes off and flies apart. Ask me how I know  ;D

There's been more than one person to have that experience.

I've been lucky so far . . .
