Switching parts on old Husqvarna
« on: January 15, 2023, 01:25:13 pm »
Greeatings from Denmark!

Hello!
First of all, I am sorry if this sort of question have been asked before on this forum, but so far I have not been able to find what I am looking for.

I have been playing around rebuilding old Husqvarna chainsaws for some time now. First an old 44 Rancher, and now I have gotten my hands on an old model 61 ( the old with the metal handle break ) and a newer 357 XPG.

I am missing some major parts on both, and I was wondering if there is any place, where I can Find a list over what models I can cannibalise to fix the old 61, and later the 357 XPG model (need a new Crankshaft and break etc). . I am aware of that I can buy new spare parts from Husqvarnas own website, and others. But I am wondering if I can use parts from some older models to fix these two ?. In Denmark a new crankshaft for a 357 XPG cost around 420 dollars.

I know of a place where I can find saws in all sizes and shapes. And often I can buy anything from old Husqvarns to Jobo's for around 30 bucks a piece. So I can get all sorts of spare parts..

Regards

Christian.

I dont know if any list. But sometimes if you go to Ereplacementparts and click on a part it tells you which other saws it fits.

357 look at 359 and jred 2156 2159

61 I would think to look at 66 266 268 272 etc for common parts.
