Wild guess #1

#1 stock
#2 ported,  deaper sound and very small gain over # 1
#3 big bore, it kept RPM's up all the way thru the cuts.

#2 and #3 could be switched for wild guess #2. I have never handles saws like that so these really are "wild guess's".

didn't run a stock saw for a comparison when they test cut the ported saws. I still wonder where the stock saw would have placed in the group of ported saws.  Without a base line of 5 cuts with the stock saw, we'll never know what % the builders have gained.

Dennis I found where a stock 372xp with muffler mod had run at 2 gtg's I was at.

Here is info 10x10 yellow poplar 2 or 3 cuts ( I forgot to list it)

375K 51.4mm ported  4.72
372 50mm ported 5.04 very good running saw
681 stock muffler mod 5.97
460 ported  6.28
372 50mm muffler mod 6.41 strongest stock I have ran
7900 ported 6.72
7900 big bore 84cc stock  muffler mod 6.97

I am thinking about taking a little more off the base of one or both of the ported 372's. What is the safest an tightest squish you guys have run on a WORK saw without problems?  No pop up pistons are being used.

I like .020 on 70cc up. I have had no trouble running .015 on 50cc.
