I like .020 on 70cc up. I have had no trouble running .015 on 50cc.

I was checking the 50mm one over as bolted up and run without gasket and just liquid gasket material used it was coming out to .030. Thought it was a little tighter when bolted up without anything metal to metal.
Have you ever measured after bolting up to see if the 1194 or red or black rtv added anything to your squish? Dont seem like I should have lost a smidgen of squish.

I was thinking .020 this time and you confirmed that. Thanks.

Now I have to make up my mind if I want to drop it even more to run a oem gasket like the 026 was I just put back together. Then raise everything back.

Never checked the squish with 1194. When they get to that point, they are not coming apart again.

Are you going to machine the base down with a lathe or do it the red neck way? The 365 cylinder i got off you I'm saving for Dan, but the cylinder thats on it now I'm gonna play with. With the base gasket out now i have about .040 squish :o

There is a machinist that does the base and pop ups for $40. Least the last one in that woods ported 5000 was  ;)
I'm going redneck and just stock pistons. I never want to be in a position to have to depend on someone else for machine work again.

JFYI, Mark aka woodheater (north of me in Sandusky) showed me how to use my drill press to make pop up pistons and cut cylinders with it when he was here once.
Thats how he had done the 346 he had in the 3ci build.  I had thought his saw was the most impressive doing all the work himself with the tools he had on hand.

Yeah I got all the pics saved on a HD in a puter that the MO board fried on. So I have the pics, just cant get to them and I have went to laptops instead of full size PC's. So I dont see me putting MO boards in the 2 dead PC's.
He did a great job and the guy really thinks out of the box with the stuff he has shown me.

You can buy an adapter cable that will plug into an old internal HD and let you run it as an external. If it's just a temporarly thing, you can get by without a case.

PM me more info on this with a link please and pretend you are explaining this to a 5 year old OK. I'm not so smart with puters or it's language terms.

I sent you some info on the cable. Let me know if you need more info, or if something isn't clear.
