Husky 345 carburation problem
« on: August 29, 2016, 04:55:34 pm »
My 345 chainsaw starts and idles just fine but when throttled it speeds up some then won't go any faster. You can hear it sucking air but apparently it's not getting enough fuel. I've removed and cleaned the carb with no improvement -- but didn't remove the H and L screws as they're locked into a plastic "cage".
Has anyone seen this behavior? I need the saw!

Could be crankshaft seals leaking?

But could also be a air hole in the fuel line or impulse line

Or even a plugged fuel filter in the tank

Sawdust packed on top of the regulator diaphragm

or dirt in the filter inside the carburetor

Dirt in the high speed needle valve

May need a metering valve diaphragm in the carburetor
