2008 I injured my right ring finger on the end and some kind of sympathetic arthritis set in and stiffened the hand up the where I couldn't use the fingers. The hand was just a club. After a year of that, I started taking glucosamine chondroitin  and it started getting better. After about 6 months, I could pull a chainsaw starter again. I was told that if I quit taking the pills that my hand would get stiff again.

The moral to this story is that it is possible to help with some arthritis problems but if the bones are deformed or cartilage gone I doubt its effectiveness?

I'm a congestive heart failure person that is in AFib. These people tend to have gout due to several reasons one of being the medication we take.  So the doctor prescribed allopurinol 300 which keeps the uric acid level down. No more ghost pains in my fingers and feet.
