Looks like Ed Heard EHP is having a little fun testing some stock saws. Husqvarna 550xp and a Stihl MS261.
So what do you think of them in stock form? Wood type, size and chain used?

Just seen Ed has responded to my questions over on his site. So he dont have to double post. Copy and pasted.
Cut I never measured the block but guessing 14 inch or so , its just a block of what I call swamp ash down here , it lives very close to water and is not a very hard type of wood , the wood seems pretty much the same so a good test block. The chain was 3/8's on both with same bar length , oregon on the husky and stihl chain on the 261 but I hand filed both chains so I'm sure there equal as far as chain goes.

261 is all a part and I'm sure will not run the same here shortly ;D

Good cutting woods ported 261 compared to the stock 550, 3/8 on both?
Hope to see the 550 woods ported in the same stick. ;)

I would say as far as stock just pick your brand/dealer and go with is because they looked very close...
