Title: dolmar 5100 carb options
Post by: mweba on September 16, 2012, 08:39:45 pm
Have a 5100 that has exceeded the factory carbs fuel capabilities.  Any known body swaps out there?

I dont recall what carb is on the 5100. But I have seen some badazz woods ported 5100 running the stock carbs still.   So that being said it is hard to believe a woods work saw is out of carb unless there is a problem with the carb.

Have they went on the side of a gtg cookie cutter and it needs more carb?

The 5105 uses the Zama C1Q-DM14 The same as the 5100

Have two carbs here and both go lean after a long cut.  Fatter I run em the faster they fall behind.  Its an aggressive port with out externals of course.  Acts just like a zama on the strong woods 359/357

Well on the 7900 they used to take the zama off and replace with the 372 walbro carb.  They had to change something with linkage rod I think, cant remember.

So now to see what walbro will just about bolt in the 5100.   Have you compared a 346 or 357 carbs yet?

That was on the list after digging up a titan 50 piston for my 350 build off saw  :)

Found what you were talking about now. 0-50cc build off at Iowa gtg?

Yup.  That will be running a 353 cylinder, my personal favorite.   Buddy of mine machined the spacer for me.

I've got a new 346 NE carb take off. Never paid attention to brand on it.

Also a back up used walbro 357 carb I have never had on a saw yet. My other one  works flawless and had bought just as a back up carb.
