Title: IEL
Post by: Old Iron Logging on March 08, 2011, 02:42:36 pm
The oldest saw I have is an IEL model RA. From what I understand it was called Pioneer. The next year after mine was made IEL was bought by what now is known as Pioneer and the model was called  the Pioneer 600.

Is that the yellow one you had bought for vintage class racing at one time?

Kind of yellow green. I have a yellow 1-40 here. Guy came in today for 2 chains and a bar. When he saw the IEL on the wall he sat and told stories for 1/2 hour about running them. He may come back for a new saw. Never hurts to talk.

Trying to fit a Stihl 088 bar on the old IEL. Only .404 bar I have around. This IEL is the best starting saw I ever used. Taking it to a GTG/race just for kicks.

Anyone know the max rpm for an IEL model RA?

Got an answer on the rpm question. Seems its a real speed demon. 5500-6000 rpm tops.
