Title: 090 Clutch Pads
Post by: Treevor on October 07, 2012, 01:50:07 pm
I know that plenty of you 090 owners have naked shoes on ur clutches. I have a company that will repad them with the same material for considerably less then what a new set of shoes would cost ( if you could find them). My problem is that i need the pad thickness so that this company can repad them to the OEM spec.  Is there anyone that would have a new clutch pad that they could measure the thickness of it? I have my guess as to thickness of the material ( around 2.5 mm ?? or 1/8th in.?

Says clutch with lining measurements. So measure yours without lining and then you should know thickness then.

070 78mm  3.1"

090 96mm  3.8"

I seen this in the service manual i have... I wanted to make sure that wear within the spider and shoes doesn't throw off the pad thickness... But if this is the way i have to go I will! Even if there's wear ill have them pad so the thickness equals 96mm across the clutch so i can keep the stand off distance from the drum the same so it wont change the engagement speed.  Thanks for the .pdf  Cut4fun

If anyone needs anymore info on getting your pads redone on your Stihl clutches let me know and ill forward you the company info.
