my dad was using my poulan pro 330. he got it stuck in the tree 15 feet off the ground, and took no precaution to make sure the saw would not fall when he went to the ground to figure out what to do.
of course, he yanked on the branch he cut, and my saw fell to the ground. the gas tank is now broken. i did not realize this until i went to use it, and turned it 90* to the ground to make a cut and the fuel all ran out.
i'm having a problem with the poulan website. when i enter the model # to find the parts diagram, 330 comes up with a pair of weedwhackers so i can't even find the diagrams for the saw. google is not very helpful either, as i come up with replacement parts sites that don't have what i need. is this something i need to get off a parts saw?
i just came up with part # 530069974 which is coming up discontinued everywhere i look

This is the website I use to lookup Poulan, etc.

530069974 has been replaced by 530069894 however it's NLA also. I think the handles from 2800,3000,3300,335,336,3450,3750 will work you would have to use the parts from the 330 handle in a 2800-336. Your best bet will be a parts saw. Go to chainsawr.com for used parts. ModifiedMark and Cut4 should be along to confirm. Can your repair the tank with some SealAll or epoxy? If it's just **** that's what I would do. I have a 2800-300-3300 spare tank if needed.

Like he said Jacks. Also Ordetree for poulan parts online http://www.ordertree.com/poulan/
I've used both.
Also Outdoor Dist. This was the first place I ever used years ago for poulan parts http://www.outdoordistributors.com/
Ordertree seemed to be the fastest turn around and most accurate if the item was in stock or not. Some parts places list parts even though they cant get them :-X.

I was wondering about this the other day when I had the tank off a 330 and 3300 looking at the tank vents. I was wonder if they would be able to swap back and forth or not.
I do not know and havent tried it. But I would like to know too if they are interchangeable.

Just thought of some differences. Intake boot hole sizes, air filter area different.

Poulan 330 380 3450 3750 are direct swaps. 530069894, 530047334, 530027135, 530027133
There is a 3500 on ebay but it has different air filter, intake hole etc. I'm just unsure on that one you might have to buy more stuff to do the swap if it would.

thanks for the leads guys. chainsawr has used ones listed but they are sold out.
i'm on jack's website right now fantasizing about a new husqvarna. i have an older poulan that we checked and it won't work. my dad killed that one too. it seems like there is a trend of my dad killing my chainsaws.
i'm getting close to the epoxy/jb weld attempt. i've got to pull it apart further to see how bad the crack is.
appreciate the help! i have a truck full of logs that need cut right now. the last 2 years i picked up wood that was already 18-24" long and just split it, this year i picked up some big oak logs that are 8-10' long.

Show us your redneck fix with pics before and after if you would. I'm into learning all redneck fixes I can.
I have found out the quik steel putty is much stronger then jb in alot of applications. ;)
By the way used is going to be your source.
New is NLA like you found out.

Will a 3000 tank fit?
If so I have a good used one.

Do not give up on that 330 they are good saws and well worth repairing. Just keep looking on ebay and chainsawr like you have and eventually something will show up.
-
i'm not going to give up.
we checked the inventory of broken saws in my dad's garage, none of them are interchangeable.
i'm going to go buy a husqvarna 455 here shortly as rural king is 15% off entire store today via rebate so they'll send me back a gift card for $60 in a week or two. hopefully that one will last a very very long time, and i will repair the poulan when i find a replacement. right now though i need a working saw that i can use farther from the house than a 100' cord will take me, but i also want one that will last for a very long time. i picked up one of those tiny 14" electric $49 homelite saws last year just to cut little kindling and it proved useful for that, and i ran it through some 14" oak tree trunk that i cut down a couple years ago and it just keeps going.
i'll keep searching chainsawr, ebay, craigslist, etc...

I dont have any extra tanks but I do have running like new 2 330 and a used 3450 for sale if you want. I just dont want to pull a tank of a ready to go saw. I will sale PHO = powerhead only since you have bar a chain already.
I will keep a eye out for you though.
I just went through a 455 for a guy and liked it for it's intended purpose. I would take a 455 over a MS290 all day anyday. ;D
