I have a stihl 031 that was given to me ran 3 tanks threw it , ran good now I try to start it it floods out, put new plug in no differance, does anybody know what the voltage should be at the plug I get about 4.5 volts with a volt meter.

I have only worked on 2 031. So I dont know the answer to your question.

Most of the Stihl 031 problems have been with the condenser in the ignition.

See if you have spark?

I lowered the cylinder the port timing is now much better it pulled 180 Psi :o

The crankcase is from a 032 and the cylinder is mount cold on the case
