Title: Stihl 009 preliminary diagnosis
Post by: Remington on January 23, 2013, 07:26:12 pm
I got a 009 that cuts out as soon as it hits wood. Do you guys have any suggestion to look at besides a broken piston or ring. It starts and runs fine as long as it isn't cutting but after cutting it goes in about 2 inches and stalls. The pull cord does seem rather soft but I never had one before so I don't know what its supposed to feel like.

The second hose under the air filter doesn't look very secure. looks like a return to the fuel tank. also the spark plug wire is weak. could any of those attribute to the problem it has ?

My WAG could be a sign of a stiff carb diaphragm. Running out of fuel when  in the cut.
