The redmax 3800 is a different saw then the 380 you showed. I have ran a 3800 before. Nice little saws. I dont know anything about a 380.

The Zenoah G38 model airplane engine has been popular for more than 25 yrs.

Don't know exactly how much is common with the 380 chainsaw? The model engine is not a Strato Charged engine.

I know the model engine had some commonality with the chainsaw at one time but the crankcase and crankshaft were different.

The model engine had a magneto until last year.

The saw looks very similar to tanaka's of that size/year range.
