Hi I ended up haer after watching doemaster789's video on the 066 stihl. I was wondering if anyone know what he did to make it cut so fast. any info thanks

That Stihl 066 is a late model Stihl 066 crankcase with a early model Stihl Red Light cylinder without a compression release. The red light covers were used on the chainsaw but the coil and flywheel are the poly flywheel set up used in the last of the 066's.

is that cylinder what makes this saw so fast

Yes but it has a wood's port too. The chainsaw was put together like it is by a guy in Northern West Virginia.
The saw was probably running a square ground chain in the video also that made it cut faster.
It holds up well against other ported chainsaws this size.

I have that same newer model 066. Do you know where I could find one of those jugs? Also what is that saw running for compression and how about the timing. has that been advanced

Also, if I was to do this to my saw with the new style cover work with that old style jug??

I have not checked the compression lately but the compression is not too high on this chainsaw for you can run it all day in big wood and it will not get hot. I doubt the timing is advanced as it has never kicked back on me. But I try to not give it a chance to kick back. It has the 460 Rescue saw starter handle and I pull on it for all I'm worth when I'm starting it.
You can run the later round top cover on the early cylinder if you want to.
Early cylinders are hard to come by. You will just have to keep your eyes open. Another guy here in town came up with a early cylinder in the last few weeks. I have no clue where he found it? He knows some Stihl people and he's on the Internet all the time.

I think that you can use either the flat or round cylinder covers. I have a flat cover on a 660 cylinder/066 hybrid.

A WV friend woods ported that 066 in my doemaster video. Just real good work saw numbers with stock piston used, that ended up fast enough for gtg play too. Nothing like all the stuff they are doing now days to squeeze every ounce out of them.
It had a no de-comp cylinder, with the poly crankcase. It ran so well that local a porter wanted the numbers out of it to use.

Contact him above. I dont and wont give others numbers etc out even if I had them wrote down. Sorry. I am sure he will be more then happy to tell you himself though.

FWIW in case you didn't know the actual port time numbers mean very little unless you have the rest of the formula .
I ran that afore mentioned 066 some time ago and that thing would scoot .

You need to go to some of the chainsaw get togethers in Northern West Virginia, Western Maryland, and Western Pennsylvania and you will come across some of these 066's and maybe even the guy that put them together?
