some old footage of my twin 3120, running 3 cuts in hard wood. (sold off years ago to another race mate)
here a semi final then the final of Open Speed at Bermagui in the 90's.
It was set up to cut 20inch hardwood, single cut but I found it could run in open speed events as well.
Hence that horrible harvester bar and 11 tooth sprocket running 404, I replaced that and run modified bars in 3/8 and 13 /14 tooth sprockets, which made huge gains in speed.

In that final the winning saw was a Stadler built 084 (USA), and was considered the fastest saw in Australia at the time.

Thanks Kevin, that was a fairly ordinary run I thought, but that was its early days and running that heavy bar and chain was a handicap.
Once I cut off an Oregon bar and drilled / regroved it etc. to run 14 tooth in 3/8 it became very hard to beat then.
The problem then was keeping the chain on the bar, as it stretched the chain to the sh*t house.

Thanks Niel, love your story about this twin hotsaw

thanks mate, unfortunately back then footage was not taken so finding actual footage is hard, I know I have more runs somewhere and should find them for viewing.

Here is another one I recall being posted.

Twin 272 on pipes, raced against it a couple times . If it had a good chain on it it may of been hard to beat
