Title: jonsered 920 bogging sputtering
Post by: stihls066 on September 27, 2013, 07:05:39 pm
rebuilt the 920 with honed cylinder and new piston, put a used ignition on it. Ran good for a couple hours now the guy saws it sputtering and bogging. Anyone got an ideas?

Did you hear it? If it's jumping like I'm guessing, it might be the ignition breaking up. If needed, 288 coils work in the 920/930.

I just ran into this with a customer's 910, but of course those parts are NLA with no Husky options.

If its not ignition...I had one that liked to melt its pulse line (tube) from cylinder to carb. Gets really hot around there and it melted where I couldn't see it with the air filter cover off..

Mine did the same thing.  I couldn't believe it was even running for how melted it was!

I put a fresh pulse line on it when I rebuilt er. that's why it scored the piston and cylinder in the first place haha. oh well the guy never has brought it over for me to fix. he took it to a local shop who called me because they recognized my name and needed to know where I found parts because they couldn't haha aint that funny?

That is funny. What did you tell them about finding the parts? :)

Parts for these saws are just real hard to come by. Weimedog and I have a few of these saws as it's a chassis that we both developed an interest in. Kind of different and we both enjoy running them. We always keep our eyes open for dead parts saws as they are about the only source out there. Some of mine need to share parts such as air cleaners or side covers.
