Bought new Husky 435 today. Used for about 2 hrs with couple starts and stops. Snagged the chain and came off. Put chain back on, started it up, but even when revved up, the chain does not move. Ideas???

WAG's Chain brake on? Move the brake handle forward and then pull back ward.
or chain not on spur or rim sprocket on the clutch drum?

If the chain came off, the driver links on the chain are dinged and will require you file the dings off or throw the chain away and buy a new one.
You will need to remove the bar and keep trying the chain in the bar grooves until you get the chain to slide freely on the bar. Will be some filing with a flat file. Where a driver will not slide in the bar, you will need to file the nicks down on that drive link until it slides freely. Go around the chain until all the chain will slide freely.
A guy sold me (real cheap) a almost new chainsaw for the very reason you are experiencing. I spent a couple hours filing the dings off the drivers of two chains and then a trip to the dealer to get the part that was causing the problem of the chain jumping off to begin with. Had $15 in parts and some labor time. But saw was like new.

I did put on a new chain because the one was dinged up. In fact, I put a new bar on it too because I didn't want to see if that was going to be a problem so I did it at the same time.
The chain brake was on when I first tried to restart and it would not start, duh. So I made sure it was off and then it started, but chain did not move.
Oh yea, after starting it and not seeing the chain move, I took it all apart again and had a hell of a time getting the cover off. The metal ring on the inside of the cover just would not let go of the big cylinder. (I know, wrong terminology, but I am not mechanically inclined - in case you couldn't tell.)
I will try putting it back together tomorrow and will retry all the suggestions I get here.

The cover will not come off if you have the brake "on"
If you pry the cover off you will bend the brake band and ruin it
You will have to take the saw to the repair shop and it will not be covered by warranty.

Your brake band was tight aka locked around the clutch drum. Sounds like it was still in locked position to me. If it was off and drum moving freely the brake band not locked it wouldnt hang up like that.

That explains what happened in regards to the cover. I didn't need to pry it off, because I did "unlock" the brake as I was trying to figure what was going on!

If still no luck you might have too pull the clutch off, I've seen where the clutch drum broke in 2 pieces. Steve

Always see if the chain moves around the bar freely by hand after installing/tightening, etc... No need to start the saw if the chain wont move. You also don't want the chain Too Tight! Finally, learn how the chain brake works.

Yes, I should have tried it by hand before starting, but I assumed.....
Also, very familiar with chain brake - used many chainsaws in the past, which is why I was so sure of myself. Will be taking it back in to the shop tomorrow for professional fixing since it is beyond my skills. Thanks to all who have responded.
