Title: Carb rebuild ??
Post by: huntindog on November 07, 2013, 04:39:05 pm
So I decided to go ahead and put a kit in carb of my 036 Pro while I have it apart for the top end.
I watched a video on Utube to see what it looked like inside first.
I have it apart now, and see a small triangular piece that looks to be aluminum press fit? into the carb body next to the needle/seat. There is a replacement in my kit. What does this piece cover? is it press fit or glued?

It is a "welch" plug, concaved in shape, so once in place, the top can be "tapped" with a punch and the bottom expands to fit tight, they usually seal it too....

I would advise that you leave it alone.....

The small plate covers the idle fuel feed holes.  The manufacturer cannot drill those holes without adding the plate.  Flush the area with solvent through the idle jet and like Fish recommended, leave the plate alone.
