Hey fella's, my Poulan made 3.7 has developed a bar oil leak recently. Full tank or half tank, if left overnight there will be a puddle under saw. Takes several days to get near empty . Two years ago I replaced the gaskets and diaphragm and it has worked fine until recent leak. The manual and auto are still working. I have not been able to find leak. I replaced the cotter pin tank vent with a plastic tube vent that reaches across tank to opposite side , ( like a wild thing vent). I probably should have left the cotter pin in tho.
Has anyone run into this ? I appreciate any input. Chris

Those puddles of oil when the old saw sets for a while has been the story of my life. To rebuild everything usually didn't fix it.

Can you pin point where the leak is. For example is it coming from around the metal plate that holds the diaphragm.
I myself own close to 10 saws that use that type of oiler but I usually drain the oil when I am done using them because of leaks.
Also you can try and set the saw on a piece of cardboard and then check it in about an hour to help in finding where the leak is coming from.
If it is coming from the oiler hole itself where the bar is then try opening the oil cap to release pressure from the oil tank and see if it stops leaking.

I hear you on the leaks. I usually put it on cardboard just for that very reason. I 'll have to wipe it down, put oil in and check.I usually clean it after every use, but didn't this time. I'll have to check the closure plate and pump for loose screws. Thanks fella's, Chris
