Title: Husqvarna 36/41/136/137/141 Oil Pump Worm Gear Puller
Post by: Eccentric on December 22, 2013, 04:15:00 pm
Cut/pasted from the Poulan thread here.  Same tool is also used on the PoulanPro 255, 295, 310, 315, and 4620 saws (and the Poulan 2770 and 2775 and possibly other models I'm forgetting).  Original post made by Cut4Fun.

For the 530031136 the cheapest I could find for the worm gear puller on this one was $33 and shipping.

Still spendy, but better than $43.

most times you don't need to use a puller on that chassis. once you have the crank out, they just slip off almost by hand.

I hope so, as I'm doing seals on a PP295 soon.

I have the puller for the small huskies, and have never used it for them. most times all they need is a couple of small screw drivers behind the gear to get it moving. takes less time than the puller ;D a touch of heat before it goes back on. they're easy peasy.

Every time I have done a PP295 I needed a puller.   Or like Kostas suggested use the old bearing and seal and attach a 3 jaw puller to it and pull the worm gear off.

Guy need a crankshaft from for a 142 and he said a 141 will work. I took his word for it and mailed him a 141 crankshaft.
I found out I didnt have anything on hand to pull a 141 worm gear so I was looking and found this thread.

Anyone know for sure on the cranks 142 141 same?

Looked at a 141 and 142 ipl. Both use the #530029744 crank and rod assembly. Looks like a Poulan part #, the 136 also uses the same part.
