do you need pictures of my 525?
-
I know what they look like. There is a variation of the Jonsered 525 in this country called the Poulan Pro 325
The Jonsered 525 pictures are sourced from the Internet

the mine looks like the firsts pictures but the poulan 325 seems to have less power... do you have the specs of the 525 cause I don't have anything... is it a good chainsaw? I use a husky 142e in woods but I want to try my old jonsered. can I use 1:50 fuel? or more oil? what is the best to give it a second life?
thanks

I'm sorry but I made a mistake. The Poulan Pro 325 is a little larger at 53cc and is more of a Partner 5000 and has more differences from the Jonsered 525 than I thought?
-
thank you for all!
what about this chainsaw? do you know anyone still use it?
is it a strong little chainsaw?
is it OK to cut oak with ?
-
They were OK for a 49cc chainsaw. It will be fine with oak as long as you keep your chain properly sharpened
-
ok and a big Merci for all the info!
i m gonna ask you more cause I want to learn more about old chainsaws.
have a nice day!
-
525 and 535 is very similar. Some details are different like tank vent, oil system, carb, airfilter system in some cases.
A very good saw that is not so high revving but hold rpm very well. It has 8 pin rim and work best with 13"/15" bar. If longer is needed, better is to put in 7 pin rim.
-
thanks magnus!
can I use it without bar plates or not?
can you give me a good combination of bar+chain+sproket for this saw, I mean Oregon or Kox ref.
thanks
-
I would use 13-15" Oregon Pro-Lite bar with Oregon 21BPX or 21LPX. 8pin rim as it should be.
-
OK thanks!
but what is the difference between 7 or 8 pins rim ? speed, torque?
-
I will say barely noticeable in speed if you run it in firewood pile and are a casual user.
If you are good at handling saw when branching thin spruce for ex in thinning, then it is a good thing to have 8 pin.
I guess your work will be done in a firewood pile of small to medium sized wood so 8 will work fine as it was intended.
If you have lots of big wood and heavy cuts with 15" + bars another saw more appropriate for the job is to recommend or 7 pin and caution.
As alway's razor sharp chains that cut and no load on saw....
-
the bar mounted on the chainsaw is a 18" but most of the trees I'm going to cut are 10 or 12" so I'm looking to downgrade the bar to have more power... is it OK for you?
in that case is it possible to use my husqy bar with a 3/8" if I change the rim.
is it possible to change the rim to a 3/8"?
the gauge is smaller in my husquy bar is it working with the rim?
-
i have rebuilt the saw! its start very well but I feel hard to pull the cord . I've put oil inside but not really change...
I think I'm ready to use it but do you have any tips to clean the saw? there are a lot of oil and shavings inside around the clutch. do you use gas oil or something else to clean?
thanks
